Slipcovered Chair Re-Do, Finally Done!

The chair cover reveal is here!

That may be too dramatic....

Well, here is the chair re-do...

You can't really see in the photo how awful the shape of these covers really were. I was a embarrassed when I had people over. They had served their time. It was time to replace them. There are 4 chairs, and we have had them for over 10 years. They were our dinette chairs, then our covered porch chairs, when I didn't have the stomach to get rid of them. I covered them with the awesome chair covers from Wal-Mart and they were perfect. But, then I changed my decorating mind as I often do, and brought them inside...well two of them.

Now, I needed new dining chair covers. Needless to say, after awhile, they were GROSS. The cushions never got wet, but the "wood" part of the chair was worn. They had holes on the seat from weather temperatures, misting and a squirrel attack...well, she was digging at them the steal the cotton for her nest above our porch. I guess I feel dramatic tonight.

{It's the B-12 shot I got 2days ago...I feel more....well, awake.} Back to the chairs!

So, I went back to Walmart.com as I had done before! I LOVE Wal-Mart!! The price per-chair cover is just unbeatable...to me!

Then, I took them to my favorite embroidery shop Panda Embroidery in Grapevine, Texas. I had them embroidered with our last name initial enclosed in an oval. I think they turned out really pretty.

Here is a Before: I KNoooow.....Horrible! But still comfortable.

After: Ahhhh, Much Better! Chair cover + monogramming = much cheaper than new dining chairs and also customized.

I added a brooch from Sam Moon, a great accessory shop. I think I like this look, rather than a knot or bow. If after this week I still like it, I'll make it permanent. I will cut them and attach, {what will then be tabs}, with Velcro strips and the brooch will stay for a little jewelry. Right now the folded material and brooch is weighing it down. Hopefully, that adjustment, will make it look more taut & tailored. I also have my eye on these light blue and cream cameo brooches at Sam Moon, that I think would be even better than the green jeweled brooches on their now. So another chair update may be in my future.

Well, I'm really pleased with them. What do you think? I have two more covers. It make me want to bring the other two chairs in and move the bench...but, you would never see the monogram. So, I'll think about that tomorrow.............

Have a Great Weekend! And to my Northern and Northeastern Friends, Stay Warm~

Happy Decorating!
