JACK lONDON wrote this about my Great-Great-Great Uncle George Freeth; the first lifeguard, father of surfing, inventor of the lifesaving torpedo & water polo. He died of influenza in 1919, at the age of 35, after saving Japanese fisherman in a storm and received the Congressional Medal of Honor. I could only hope to live a life as selfless as he lived his.
